It lets you take time out to look after yourself and helps stop you becoming exhausted and run down.

Who?
Anyone who lives in County Durham and needs support to stay in their own home for as long as possible.
We have members whose ages range from 60 to 102 years old.
Some people have early onset of Dementia, others have mobility issues or other ageing / health related conditions.
Some people are alone and isolated.
Some attend to give their carers a break.
All who attend show an increase in their confidence, improved communication skills, and feel it helps delay further decline.
What?
Day Care - Drop off from 9am, pick up at 3.30 - 4pm.
Our service includes care trained staff who have had dementia training. Many staff have been with us for up to 20 years.
Activities that promotes confidence, independence, friendships and memory stimulation.
Our centres provide much needed company and stimulation for any older person who is lonely, isolated, has early onset Dementia or related conditions.
Refreshments include breakfast and a cooked 3 course lunch.
Our service is also crucial for family members who are carers to have some ME time so they can recharge their batteries.
Where?
DACC provides our service in local community centres across County Durham.
This helps local communities to survive and makes us as accessible as possible.
We employ local people whenever we can and pay above the Living Wage.
How Much?
Our prices start at £45.00 per day.
The price includes £11.50 each day for morning refreshments, a 3 course lunch, afternoon refreshments and £33.50 per day for care and activities. This works out at an incredible £5.60p per hour for experienced Care!
Depending on personal financial circumstances your day care can be funded by the Local Authority. To request an assessment please contact the Adult Social Care Team at Durham County Council.
DACC does not assess any finances.
